Position Title: Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Temple, TX
Shift Details:
- Shift: 4-10 hour shifts with rotating call
- Shift Per Week: 4
- Scheduled Hours: 40
- Shift Start Time: 07:00 AM
- Shift End Time: 05:00 PM
- Minimum Rate Per Hour: $27
- Maximum Rate Per Hour: $37
- Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (external applicants only)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. In this role, you will perform a range of cardiac ultrasound procedures, providing high-quality diagnostic images to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for procedures and obtain relevant clinical history, ensuring the most accurate and comprehensive echocardiograms.
- Cardiac Imaging: Perform a range of basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, making necessary measurements for interpretation to ensure high-quality results.
- Abnormality Identification: Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination when necessary.
- Procedural Assistance: Assist physicians in procedure rooms by performing echocardiograph studies, including transesophageal studies, to aid in complex procedures.
- Lab Maintenance: Record statistics, perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab, and report any malfunctions.
- Resource Role: Act as a resource for staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures.
Key Success Factors:
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques.
- Anatomy & Physiology: Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Patient Interaction: Ability to explain procedures to patients and answer their questions effectively.
- Clinical Protocols: Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers, including sonographers, physicians, and nurses.
- Infection Control: Knowledge of proper infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardio Credentialing Intl. (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
