Job Title: Renal Dietitian (Registered Dietitian)
Location: Delano, CA (with some coverage in Bakersfield, CA)
Shift Type: Days
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Saturdays if needed)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Annual Salary Range: $84,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)
Position Summary:
As a Renal Dietitian, you'll play a vital role in improving the quality of life for dialysis patients by developing individualized nutrition plans, supporting long-term care facilities, and being a key part of the interdisciplinary team. Your expertise will guide patients in managing their health through dietary education and consistent support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments and counseling for ESRD patients
- Create, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
- Educate patients and families on renal-specific diets and medication interactions
- Review lab results monthly and adjust care plans in coordination with physicians
- Support medication management (e.g., Vitamin D analogs, binders, calcimimetics)
- Coordinate with Long-Term Care Facilities and attend care plan meetings
- Participate in QAPI and IDT care planning and improvement efforts
- Refer patients to resources for financial or nutritional support as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Active state licensure in California (or eligible to obtain)
- At least 1 year of clinical nutrition experience
- Experience with ESRD or dialysis patients strongly preferred
