Job Title: Director of Education

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually with up to 25% annual bonus

Location: Overland Park, KS, with required travel to various partner sites

Schedule: Office days: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; Travel: Wednesday and Thursday

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% predominantly initial to align with hospital partners.

Role Overview:

The Director of Education at our client's organization will play a pivotal role in advancing both clinical and non-clinical educational initiatives across multiple sites. This position is designed for a visionary leader with a strong clinical background in the Operating Room, ideally as a Registered Nurse. The director will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and refining training programs that bolster staff competencies, ensure exemplary patient care, and adhere to stringent healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Spearhead the creation and revision of training curricula that meet state approvals and include didactic elements, potentially enhancing them through grant-funded opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Within the first 90 days, engage with key stakeholders through visits and meetings to forge strong relationships and understand the organizational culture and expectations deeply.
  • Team Leadership: Directly oversee the Corporate Educator and Educator in Training, with plans to expand the team. This involves mentoring, strategic oversight, and performance evaluations.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all educational programs comply with relevant regulations, focusing on creating a robust framework that supports the organization's clinical and operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST). CRCST certification is required within 120 days of employment if not already certified.
  • Experience: Extensive clinical experience in OR/SPD settings, with a proven track record in educational roles showcasing innovation and leadership.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication capabilities, adept at strategic planning and program management, strong analytical skills for needs assessment and program evaluation.
