Position Title: Occupational Therapist

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment upon physician referral to a diverse patient population. This includes assessing, identifying, and treating deficits in self-care, functional mobility, upper extremity function, behavior, cognition, and perception to improve the patients ability to function in their life roles. The Occupational Therapist will also provide instruction and education to patients and caregivers, promoting the safe application of therapeutic techniques.

Education / Training / Experience:

  • Desired:
  • One year of experience in acute care, extended care, rehabilitation, mental health, or outpatient settings.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • Minimum:
  • Current Occupational Therapy license from the State of California or a limited permit from the State of California.
  • Current CPR certification.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

  • Demonstrated technical competence, professional clinical judgment, and effective communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to patient and family needs.
  • Ability to provide targeted treatment addressing the practical and realistic needs of each patient to achieve desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat areas of deficit in patient function, focusing on self-care, mobility, and upper extremity function.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education on therapeutic techniques to promote safe, independent function.
  • Utilize clinical skills to deliver effective treatment for a wide range of diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in accordance with clinical guidelines.
