Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients requiring advanced monitoring and treatment. Responsibilities include operating advanced medical equipment such as central lines, A-lines, IV pumps, balloon pumps, Impella pumps, and ventilation support. The RN will also care for general medical and surgical patients in the in-patient unit, ensuring the comprehensive delivery of care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning. This role involves acting as a clinical leader, precepting staff, and working collaboratively with various team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in medical, surgical, and cardiovascular settings, including advanced monitoring and interventions.
- Operate advanced medical equipment such as central lines, A-lines, multiple IV pumps, balloon pumps, Impella pumps, and ventilators.
- Care for patients requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including providers, charge nurses, and the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Guide and assist other healthcare staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping staff, and dietary staff.
- Implement policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Assist with precepting staff and act as a clinical leader.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited RN Degree Nursing Program, required.
Experience:
- Experience in advanced medical/surgical units and recent critical care nursing, including cardiovascular surgery, required.
- Experience with Impella or other cardiac balloon pumps and CRRT preferred.
- 1-2 years of Cardiac Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current State of Montana RN Licensure required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- PALS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in advanced nursing principles and procedures.
- Competency in operating advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, invasive lines, cardiac balloon pumps, and ventilatory support.
- Ability to manage patients requiring CRRT and provide critical care support.
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.
