Schedule: Days (2-3 Shift Pattern)
Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 (based on experience)
Bonus Eligibility: Up to 15% annual incentive

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Med-Surg Nursing to oversee a 42-bed medical-surgical unit in a well-established acute care hospital. This role provides critical leadership in managing nursing operations, performance improvement initiatives, staffing, and patient care excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong acute care leadership experience and a passion for collaboration and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan, and coordinate the daily operations of the Med-Surg department to support high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Direct and evaluate clinical staff, including hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Enhance department performance through resource optimization, staff development, and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to facilitate seamless patient care and continuity across departments.
- Oversee patient flow, quality initiatives, and unit education programs for staff and patients.
- Participate in strategic planning, technology adoption, and short- and long-term project development.
- Serve as a mentor and leader to managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), RNs, LPNs, and PCTs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (required).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or APRN).
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- 2-3 years of RECENT acute care manager-level experience (adult inpatient preferred).
- Proven leadership experience in a hospital-based Med-Surg environment.
Unit Details:
- 42-bed medical-surgical unit with recently renovated facilities.
- 57 FTEs including a Director, Manager, 4 CNCs, RNs, LPNs, and PCTs.
