Job Title: RN Manager, Critical Care Services

Salary Range: $87,339 - $130,998

Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours per week

Overview:

We seek a dynamic RN Manager for Critical Care Services, an essential leadership role responsible for managing the clinical and administrative functions of our Critical Care Unit. The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician with a strong background in critical care, demonstrating superior critical thinking skills and a commitment to fostering a supportive and effective care environment. This role involves collaboration across disciplines to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient unit operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Critical Care Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient resource management.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient throughput and care transitions effectively.
  • Lead and develop a team of nurses and patient care technicians, utilizing a keen understanding of individual strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain a climate of professional and personalized service to patients, fostering high satisfaction ratings among patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Manage staff recruitment, retention, training, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and financial objectives.
  • Implement and uphold hospital-wide initiatives, promoting positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff, enhancing professional development and unit performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required; enrollment in a BSN program within 12 months of hire if not already completed.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of direct nursing experience in an ICU setting, including at least two years specializing in open-heart recovery.
  • Prior leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current RN license in the State of Alaska.
  • BLS or BCLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong clinical competence in ICU-level nursing care.
  • Proven leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.

  • Number of Beds in Unit: 16
  • Current Staff: 35 RNs and PCTs
