Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Waxahachie, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Schedule: 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours)

Salary Range: $33 - $45.11 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Waxahachie, TX for night shifts. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality respiratory care services, including administering oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and more. This role offers a flexible PRN schedule with competitive hourly pay and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory care treatments and therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, inhaled medications, and airway clearance, as ordered by physicians.
  • Perform and monitor invasive and non-invasive ventilation and bedside spirometry.
  • Assess patient conditions, review diagnostic test results, and implement appropriate respiratory therapies.
  • Instruct and educate patients on the use of respiratory equipment and assess their response to therapy.
  • Document all treatments and supplies used and ensure accurate filing of charges and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Respond to emergencies and administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when needed.
  • Adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and all healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and students, providing mentorship and guidance when necessary.
  • Continuously seek quality improvements in clinical care and identify opportunities for better patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree or 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy.
  • Certification/License/Registration:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the State of Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
