Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts (3x per week)
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,268


Job Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional setting in California City, CA. This position involves providing direct nursing care and supporting medical providers in the treatment of an incarcerated population. Candidates must hold active ICE clearance and be comfortable working in secure environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and emergency response
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments
  • Evaluate inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries and coordinate appropriate care
  • Perform sick call, operate pill line, and document medication administration
  • Oversee and guide LVN/LPN and unlicensed medical staff
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records and supplies
  • Monitor hospitalizations and coordinate with external providers as needed
  • Perform emergency rescue functions during accidents or disruptive situations
  • Provide health education and counseling on an individual or group basis
  • Support Health Service Administrator with audits, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Observe and report inmate/resident behavior and medical concerns


Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN)
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in California
  • Current ICE Clearance (required for submittal)
  • ICE Clearance Screening Form must be submitted
  • Must reside 70+ miles from the facility
  • Must be able to start within 2 weeks
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays
  • No RTO (Requested Time Off) permitted during assignment


Preferred:

  • 1+ year of professional nursing experience
  • Experience in correctional or institutional healthcare settings
  • Familiarity with NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO standards
  • Active AHA BLS certification
