We are currently seeking an experienced Operating Room (OR) RN Charge for a healthcare facility in Round Rock, Texas. Job Summary
As an OR RN Charge, you will play a crucial role in the management and coordination of nursing activities within the operating room. You will oversee patient care, manage nursing staff, and ensure that surgical procedures are conducted smoothly and safely. This position requires a leader who is committed to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and can effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of nursing staff in the operating room.
- Conduct clinical assessments based on established standards and clinical reasoning.
- Develop, implement, and reassess individualized nursing care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of nursing practice through continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff, addressing emotional and physical needs.
- Ensure that all patient care is delivered in a manner that respects confidentiality, dignity, and patient rights.
- Facilitate learning for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members through effective communication and education.
- Collaborate with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting, with prior charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be obtained within 30 days if not currently held).
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including scheduling, payroll, and medical documentation software.
