Compensation:
- Minimum Rate Per Hour: $33

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer II to join our team. In this role, you will perform advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms, to provide accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging. You will work closely with physicians to assist in complex procedures and contribute to the maintenance and accreditation of the Echocardiography Lab. This position requires flexibility to work day shifts during the week, with some weekend shifts and on-call responsibilities.
On-Call Details:
- Must be able to arrive on-site within 1 hour of being called.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare patients for procedures, obtaining relevant clinical history and adapting imaging techniques to ensure comprehensive and accurate echocardiograms.
- Perform a range of cardiac ultrasound procedures, making necessary measurements for interpretation and ensuring high-quality results.
- Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of examination as needed to correlate with other diagnostic tests.
- Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms, performing echocardiography studies to aid in complex procedures.
- Perform and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms, including calculating measurements and sterilizing probes.
- Record statistics and maintain the Echocardiography Lab, ensuring equipment is functional and reporting any malfunctions.
- Serve as a resource for other staff, physicians, and students, optimizing patient care and adhering to quality processes.
- Stay updated with new technologies and implement protocols in line with system echocardiography standards.
Key Success Factors:
- In-depth knowledge of sonographic principles, cardiac anatomy, and physiology.
- Ability to explain procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the purpose of the examination.
- Proficiency in clinical protocols for cardiovascular ultrasound examinations.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and relevant patient confidentiality laws.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for effective interaction with healthcare providers.
- Skilled use of computers and medical equipment related to sonography.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience required.:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardio Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required at the time of hire.
