Job Title: Manager of Surgical Services

Salary: $49.56 to $70.81 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, Variable Shifts

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager of Surgical Services to oversee the operations of our Surgical Services department. This critical role will manage and support our surgical teams, ensuring optimal patient care, efficient service delivery, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all surgical service staff, providing direction through clinical coordinators and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure high standards of nursing care are maintained throughout surgical operations and related services.
  • Oversee operational aspects, including OR scheduling, charging, and management of departmental support services.
  • Develop and manage the department's operational and capital budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Maintain effective communication across all levels of the healthcare team, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Manage and optimize the use of departmental supplies and equipment, focusing on cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper documentation within the department.
  • Compile and manage statistical data as required for operational improvement and compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as a professional role model and mentor within the Surgical Services team.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to hospital and community activities to promote the surgical department.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of RN experience in an acute care setting, specifically in peri-operative or surgical services.
  • Proven management or leadership experience in peri-operative nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Virginia.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with experience in hospital-based surgical services (HCA experience preferred).
