Job Title: Med Surg/ER Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Syracuse, Nebraska
Shift Type: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (3 Shifts Per Week)
Average Salary: $43/hour (dependent on years of experience)
Shift Differentials:
Night shift (Sunday night - Friday morning): +$4.00/hour
Night shift (Friday night - Sunday morning): +$6.00/hour
Charge Nurse Differential: +$3.00/hour (when designated as Charge Nurse)
Extra Shift Incentive: +$40/hour for any additional shift worked beyond full-time schedule
Job Overview:
The Med Surg/ER Registered Nurse will practice under the supervision of the Director of Acute & Emergency Services. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with hospital policies. The RN will provide holistic care in various settings including Emergency (Level IV Trauma certified), Inpatient (Med/Surg), Swing Bed, Hospice, and Observation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care to meet the holistic needs of patients.
- Support and uphold the Patient Bill of Rights, ensuring patient-centered care at all times.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to deliver quality care in Emergency, Med/Surg, Swing Bed, Hospice, and Observation settings.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in a Level IV Trauma certified environment.
- Participate as Charge Nurse when designated, providing leadership and oversight during shifts.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (or must obtain within 6 months of employment).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (must be obtained within 1 year of employment).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in acute care and/or emergency room settings.
- Bachelors degree in nursing (preferred).
- Experience providing care to a general patient population.
