Job Title: Director of Surgical Services

Location: Houston, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Days, 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours)

Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Salary: $113,963 - $170,955 annually

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Surgical Services to lead and manage the perioperative team in providing safe, high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient operations. The Director will have 24/7 responsibility for the surgical services department, overseeing all aspects of perioperative care. This is an exciting leadership role in a dynamic healthcare environment that requires a strong clinical background and management experience in surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the perioperative team, ensuring patient safety and quality care
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the surgical services department, including staffing, budgeting, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with other department leaders and healthcare professionals to promote integrated care and best practices
  • Monitor compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Foster a positive work environment by mentoring and supporting staff development
  • Oversee the implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Ensure the surgical services department meets Magnet Hospital standards, supporting the hospitals commitment to excellence in patient care
  • Evaluate and improve patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and overall department performance

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care experience as a Manager or RN in the Operating Room
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required (required for Magnet Hospital status)
  • Current RN license in [STATE]
  • Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
  • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred

  • Knowledge of surgical services best practices, hospital regulations, and accreditation requirements
