Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Resource

Location: Claremont, NH

Shift Type: Nights

Shift Notes: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours weekly

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Hourly Range: $31.00 - $43.00 (based on years of experience)

Salary Range: $64,480 - $89,440 (based on a 40-hour work week)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and flexible Resource RN to provide professional nursing care across multiple departments in a rural healthcare setting. The Resource RN will coordinate care planning with other disciplines, deliver patient care that meets psychosocial and physical needs, and adjust care based on patient flow and condition changes. This position requires a high level of independence, with the ability to quickly respond to patient needs and assist where required throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments on all patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
  • Administer medications and manage pain effectively, educating patients and families on pain management strategies.
  • Revise and evaluate patient care plans daily based on patient response and overall effectiveness.
  • Provide care for patients with a variety of needs, including fluid/electrolyte management and compromised nutritional/metabolic status.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring, recognizing dysrhythmias and administering treatment according to ACLS protocol.
  • Formulate and implement individualized teaching plans for patients and families.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, both in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and other departments.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately.
  • Provide flexible and efficient care, maintaining a high level of organization under stressful conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with charge nurses, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, consulting other departments as needed.
  • Act as a resource and float across departments, including Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical (MS), and PCU.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required in Medical/Surgical (MS), ED, and PCU settings. Rural and small facility experience highly preferred.
  • Floating: Must be willing to float and work in various units, performing tasks as needed, including transfers, admissions, and unit assignments.
  • Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA): Required
  • BLS (AHA): Required
  • PALS or ENPC: Required within 6 months of hire
  • License: Active New Hampshire RN or Compact RN license required at submission (Facility will not pend certifications or licenses).
