Schedule: 2nd shift, 8-hour shifts including weekdays and weekends
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,875.00
Job Overview:
We are hiring a licensed Mental Health Coordinator (MHC) for a full-time contract assignment in a correctional facility located in California City, CA. This role focuses on providing direct, non-medical clinical mental health services to an incarcerated population. Candidates must be comfortable working in secure settings and must meet state licensure and federal clearance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments through clinical interviews and review of inmate records
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Provide therapeutic counseling and crisis intervention
- Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of psychological counseling theory and methods
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to clinical and facility standards
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field
- Active, unrestricted LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license in California
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a similar setting
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for ICE clearance)
- ICE Clearance Screening Form required for submission
- Must reside 70+ miles away from the facility
- Must be able to start within 2 weeks
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid drivers license preferred unless required by local regulations
- Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays
- No RTO (Requested Time Off) allowed during assignment
Preferred:
- Experience in correctional or forensic mental health settings
- Active AHA BLS certification
