Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac ICU
Location: Dallas, TX
Shift: 12 HR Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Full-Time)
Scheduled Hours: 36 per week (Three 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends)
Salary Range: $32 - $53 per hour
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac ICU, where you will be part of a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional care to patients with critical cardiac conditions. The Cardiac ICU specializes in post-cardiology interventional, post-vascular surgical/interventional, and advanced heart failure patients. This unit does not handle open-heart surgeries, CABG, or ECMO cases, but instead focuses on advanced cardiac care, including CRRT, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, and AIBP.
Patient Population:
- Post Cardiology Interventional
- Post Vascular Surgical/Interventional
- Advanced Heart Failure
Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 in the ICU
- 1:4 in Telemetry
What You'll Do:
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, and create, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, ensuring effective communication and support.
- Educate patients, families, and staff about healthcare choices, disease prevention, and management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop comprehensive care plans, carefully delegating tasks and ensuring timely follow-up.
- Employ problem-solving strategies to address patient and staff needs, always prioritizing safety and efficiency in care delivery.
- Achieve team goals through collaboration, recognize contributions, and commit to continuous growth and community service.
What Will Make You Successful in The Role:
- Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures, and hospital policies.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines applicable to your area of practice.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to health, disease prevention, management, and common medications.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics, with a strong commitment to patient privacy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
- Current and valid nursing license.
- BLS certification (must be obtained within 30 days of starting the role).
- Minimum of 1-year recent, full-time experience in Cardiac ICU and/or Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).
