Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Location: Moab, Utah

Salary: $31 $44.88/hour, DOE

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 with a 2-year service agreement

Job Description:

Join a close-knit team of healthcare professionals as an Oncology RN, providing specialized infusion therapy and chemotherapy care in a rural setting. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a small patient group and deliver high-quality care with a personal touch. You will be responsible for performing nursing duties that include direct care, patient assessments, monitoring during infusion sessions, and managing side effects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care following established practice standards and protocols.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status before, during, and after chemotherapy.
  • Safely administer chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusion treatments.
  • Monitor vital signs and overall response to treatments, addressing side effects as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, discharge needs, and referrals.
  • Provide patient and family education, ensuring understanding of treatment plans.
  • Float between oncology/infusion and wound care departments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and precept new nurses.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unencumbered Utah or compact state RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
