Location: Scobey, Montana

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Physical Therapist to join our growing rehabilitation department in a rural Critical Access Hospital and Outpatient Clinic. This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to patients from the local community and surrounding areas. New graduates are welcome to apply, and experienced therapists are encouraged to bring their expertise to the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Review requests for physical therapy and physician orders.
  • Evaluate and determine the most effective therapy treatment after consulting with the physician.
  • Provide efficient and effective evaluation, treatment, and modify therapy plans as needed.
  • Instruct patients, family members, and staff in home programs, and on the use of adaptive equipment.
  • Provide patient education regarding therapy and equipment.
  • Administer therapy treatments including gait training, modalities, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises.
  • Apply physical therapy agents such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation (Estim), manual therapy, and active/passive therapeutic exercises.
  • Ensure therapy notes are thorough, informative, and describe the care provided and patient response.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and other medical staff regularly to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) and Rehabilitation Care Assistants (RCA).
  • Work in a multidisciplinary environment with PT, OT, ST, nursing staff, and providers to provide holistic care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Physical Therapist license in the state of Montana (or ability to obtain).
  • New graduates are welcome; experience is an asset but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to supervise PTAs and RCAs as well as coordinate care with other medical professionals.

Therapy Functions:

  • Review and evaluate physician's orders for therapy.
  • Instruct patients and their families on therapy techniques and home care programs.
  • Administer various therapy treatments, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and gait training.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed therapy notes and treatment plans.
