Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist (PT) will provide and coordinate physical therapy services for both acute/swing bed patients in a hospital setting and outpatient settings. The PT will assess and adapt treatment techniques to improve patient outcomes, offer evidence-based treatments, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the PT will supervise PT assistants/aides as needed and help promote physical therapy within the hospital and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians in evaluating patients through diagnostic tests for muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
- Provide treatments aimed at relieving pain and restoring or maintaining function to ensure maximum patient performance.
- Record and report patient reactions to treatments and any significant changes in patient conditions to the physician.
- Educate patients and families on the use of assistive devices (e.g., canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics).
- Attend and participate in rehabilitation center staff meetings and in-service presentations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy required; Masters in Physical Therapy preferred from an accredited institution.
- Must hold a valid Physical Therapy license from the Physical Therapy Board of California.
- Valid BLS certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association.
- 2-3 years of experience in acute skilled nursing or outpatient settings preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Range: $53.63 - $74.46 per hour, depending on experience (up to 30 years of relevant experience).
- Sign-on Bonus: $10,000.
