Location: Pflugerville, TX
Shift: 12-Hour Days, 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours)
Shift Times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Hourly Rate: Up to $44 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PRN) to join our team. In this role, you will perform high-quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures in accordance with established protocols. You will collaborate with radiologists, engineers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and equipment operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation safety, patient communication, and imaging techniques, and will provide services independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic imaging procedures following established protocols and guidelines
- Ensure the safety of patients and staff by adhering to radiation safety standards, infection control, and aseptic techniques
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications according to protocol
- Evaluate and maintain imaging equipment through quality control and collaborate with engineers and physicists to optimize operational performance
- Communicate with patients and their families to explain procedures and ensure patient comfort throughout the imaging process
- Maintain and document patient images in the PACS system for clinical review and diagnosis
- Assist in inventory management, ordering radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining supplies for patient care
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including nursing partners and radiologists, to ensure effective patient care
- Adhere to department protocols for PACS, EMR, and other workflows, ensuring accurate documentation and record management
- Provide training and education to new team members and students from approved programs
Qualifications:
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the NMTCB or ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and imaging techniques
