Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Obstetrics
Location: Alamosa, CO
Schedule: Full-time, three 12-hour shifts per week (72 hours per pay period)
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Weekend Rotation: Every 4th weekend, with weekend shift differential available

Position Overview:
This RN position in the Obstetrics Department provides nursing care to patients, ensuring that patient needs are met and nursing standards are upheld. Responsibilities include triaging patients, assisting with invasive procedures, administering medications, documenting care, and collaborating with medical staff. The RN will provide care based on patient assessment, initiate appropriate nursing treatments, and respond to all situations in accordance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in line with accepted nursing and hospital standards.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments using approved nursing techniques.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor patient conditions, document significant changes, and report to the physician.
- Perform procedures per departmental policies and procedures.
- Document nursing history and physical assessments for assigned patients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Licensure: Current active Colorado RN license required.
- Certifications: BLS certification required upon hire. Additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS may be required for OB RNs.
- Experience: Experience in obstetrics or acute care preferred.
