Position Title: Director of Emergency Services

Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours per week, Days (Rotating Weekends)

Job Summary:

As the Director of Emergency Services, you will lead our dynamic Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient department operations. You will oversee a 13-bed, high-acuity ER with a daily patient volume of 65-70, directing service delivery, growth, and development initiatives. This role demands a robust leadership presence, capable of driving both strategic and operational goals within the department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Service Excellence: Identify challenges within the service line and implement effective solutions to enhance patient care and departmental performance.
  • Leadership & Development: Mentor and coach staff, fostering professional growth and strong departmental teamwork. Participate in both hospital-wide and department-specific committees.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce high standards of care, continuously evaluate service quality, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the departments budget, prioritize funding for new programs, and justify capital equipment expenditures.
  • Strategic Growth: Spearhead initiatives to expand emergency services, enhancing the departments capabilities and patient satisfaction.
  • Community and Network Building: Establish and maintain strategic relationships within the healthcare community to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Masters degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of leadership experience in emergency services, with demonstrated proficiency in managing a high-volume, high-acuity ER.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • Current RN license in Texas
  • ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and BLS required
  • Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, adept in fiscal management, and knowledgeable in regulatory standards.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, managing high patient volumes and complex cases including a significant behavioral health population.
  • Ability to effectively manage and develop a team, ensuring accountability and high standards of professional practice.
  • Capable of multitasking in a smaller facility with diverse responsibilities.
