Shift: Variable 7PM - 7AM

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $28.39 to $37.92, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, focusing on neonates and working within the Level III NICU. You will assess, treat, and evaluate patient responses to therapy, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess responses to respiratory therapy according to patient care plans, including both routine and intensive therapy.
  • Administer oxygen, therapeutic gases, and aerosol drugs, and operate related equipment such as ventilators, masks, tents, and incubators.
  • Measure ventilator volumes and pressures, and conduct blood gas analysis.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions and treatment responses.
  • Set up, operate, clean, sterilize, and store respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Respond to emergency team calls.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care and community support resources.
  • Provide care that is appropriate to the age and culture of the patients, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates.
  • Mentor and orient new staff members.
  • Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience in a Level III NICU required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • Ability to treat adults, pediatrics, and newborns.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
