Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool

Location: Round Rock, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week

Hourly Pay Rate: $32 - $53/hour

Job Overview:

This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to adapt to different patient populations, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a variety of patients while ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients across Med/Surg and IMC units
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions based on patient needs and nursing standards
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care and ensure smooth transitions through the healthcare system
  • Educate patients and families on their care, procedures, and health management strategies
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice changes to enhance patient outcomes
  • Advocate for patient autonomy, dignity, and confidentiality, ensuring ethical and patient-centered decision-making
  • Utilize critical thinking to resolve issues related to patient care, staffing, and resources
  • Demonstrate professionalism by actively participating in continued education, shared governance, and teamwork

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program or 2 years of work experience in addition to the minimum qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in Med/Surg or IMC settings

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and clinical protocols
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, medications, and potential adverse reactions
  • Ability to observe changes in patient conditions and communicate them effectively to the healthcare team
  • Proficient in computer skills, including electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
