Salary: $74,276.80

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join the Rehab Team at Valley Regional Hospital (VRH). The primary role of the SLP is to perform bedside swallow evaluations and barium swallows when the current SLP is unavailable. The SLP will diagnose and treat patients across all age groups who have conditions affecting their ability to perform functional speech and language activities. This role involves developing and administering individualized plans of care and treatment techniques to restore or maximize function, while also preventing further decline following disease or injury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bedside swallow evaluations and barium swallows as needed.
  • Diagnose and treat individuals with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore or enhance speech and language function.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians to ensure effective treatment protocols.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to supportive staff while maintaining personal competency.
  • Assist in budget considerations related to speech pathology services for optimal patient care.
  • Align personal and team efforts with the organizations vision and mission within the rehab team.
  • Maintain strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current experience as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Education: Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Certifications:
  • ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • License: Valid Speech Language Pathology license in the state of New Hampshire required.
