Position: Occupational Therapist
Location: Chico , California
Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing evaluation and treatment based on physician referrals for patients with a variety of diagnoses. The therapist will assess, identify, and treat areas affecting self-care, functional mobility, upper extremity function, behavior, cognition, perception, and the ability to function in daily life. The Occupational Therapist provides education and instruction to patients and caregivers to ensure safe application of techniques taught. The therapist supports the mission of service excellence in HomeCare and Hospice Services.
Education/Training/Experience:
- One year of experience in acute care, extended care, rehabilitation, mental health, or outpatient setting.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy certification or eligibility for certification by the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy (Certification-eligible candidates must pass the next available exam to continue employment).
- Current CPR certification.
- Current California Drivers License.
- Eligible for coverage under the Medical Centers Liability Policy (must be at least 21 years old).
- Proof of current auto insurance coverage (without business exclusion).
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills, and sensitivity to patients and their families.
- Ability to provide treatment that addresses the practical and realistic needs and goals of patients.
- Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Patients Served:
- This position serves the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
