Compensation
- Minimum Rate Per Hour: $31.12
- Maximum Rate Per Hour: $36.95
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Position Summary
The Lead Respiratory Therapist will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. This role involves performing a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, as well as monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. The therapist will be a crucial part of the patient care team, ensuring that all respiratory care is in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with the placement of artificial airways and the initiation, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and intervene as necessary.
- Assist with the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Associate Degree
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date)
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitate (must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date)
- 5 years of RRT experience (Experience in acute, LTAC, or other settings)
