  • Shift: 12-Hour Nights
  • Days Per Week: 3 (Rotating Weekends)
  • Total Hours Per Week: 36
  • Shift Start Time: 07:00 PM
  • Shift End Time: 07:00 AM

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated ECMO ICU Registered Nurse to join our exceptional team. The ECMO ICU RN is responsible for delivering the highest quality care to patients requiring extracorporeal life support (ECLS) therapies. This role involves working with various mechanical circulatory devices, including percutaneous and implantable ventricular assist devices, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, and ECMO. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to ECLS patients, including those receiving VA, VV, VP, VA-V, RVAD, and ECPR therapies.
  • Manage patients with complex conditions such as postcardiotomy syndrome, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, ARDS, and post-cardiac arrest.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain competency in all mechanical circulatory devices and related therapies.
  • Participate in ongoing research trials and contribute to the publication of findings.

Patient Ratios:

  • 1:1 RN to ECMO patient

Department Specifics:

  • 10 dedicated ECMO beds located within the CTTICU
  • 24/7 coverage by dedicated ICU physicians and ACNPs
  • 100% certification rate (CCRN, CSC)
  • One of two North Texas ECMO programs with ECMO Specialist RN-led transport teams

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in the state of [State].
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • CCRN certification required within 6 months of hire.
