Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN for Cardiac Telemetry Services in Independence, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing heart rhythms, interpreting ECGs, identifying arrhythmias, and intervening in emergency situations. This position requires high-level critical thinking, extensive clinical knowledge, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and capable of managing a diverse range of cardiac conditions.
About the Unit:
- 36-bed Cardiac Specialty Unit.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4 to 5:1 on Day Shift / 5 to 6:1 on Night Shift 1 Tech per Hall.
- The unit cares for a wide variety of monitored patients, including those with chest pain, stroke, COPD, post-ops, GI issues, accelerated heart rhythms, and patients on drips.
- Step-down from PCU and Level II Trauma Center.
- The team is united, providing support, guidance, and education for each other, with great opportunities for career development and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and provide therapeutic and administrative services necessary for patient care in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.
- Provide nursing care for patients aged 16 and over, including young adults, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Acquire advanced knowledge specific to the care of patients requiring step-down care and cardiac monitoring.
- Identify risks and hazards in the care environment and implement mitigation strategies for unsafe practices.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance nursing care and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of Acute Care RN experience.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Diploma, ADN, or BSN.
- Current RN license from the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a Multistate RN license from a participating compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire.
