Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) - Ortho/Neuro/Surgical
Location: Rapid City, SD
Essential Functions:
- Utilize the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform essential functions, including:
- Collecting comprehensive data related to the healthcare consumers health or situation.
- Analyzing assessment data to identify diagnosis or issues.
- Identifying expected outcomes and creating individualized care plans.
- Developing strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Implementing care plans and ensuring patient progression along the care path.
- Coordinating care delivery and employing strategies for health promotion and safety.
- Providing consultation to influence care plans and support change.
- Evaluate progress toward achieving outcomes.
- Follow ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010), which include:
- Enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Attaining and maintaining knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practice.
- Evaluating nursing practice in relation to professional standards, laws, and regulations.
- Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Integrating ethical provisions and research findings into practice.
- Considering factors such as safety, cost, and impact in nursing services delivery.
- Providing leadership in the nursing practice setting.
- Ensuring environmental safety and health in practice.
- Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as defined by state regulations and deliver care aligned with institutional policies and accrediting standards.
- Abide by the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).
- Use technology and software effectively to support and document nursing activities, access work-related applications, and continuously seek opportunities to improve patient care.
Additional Requirements:
Required:
- Education: Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Preferred:
- Experience: Acute care experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
This position requires proficiency in the nursing process, teamwork, ethical practice, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.
