Job Title: Paramedic

Location: Norman, Oklahoma

Shift Notes: Required to work at least 10, 24-hour shifts per month

Salary Range: $15.46/hour - $25.24/hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

You will be an integral part of a dynamic team working alongside medical directors, physicians, and nurses in the regions emergency departments. EMSSTAT provides pre-hospital stabilization and life-saving care, responds to 911 calls, performs inter-facility transports, and supports event standbys. Specialized teams such as SWAT Medics, bike teams, and the regional disaster medical response team (DMRT) are key components of EMSSTATs operations.

Paramedics at EMSSTAT are tasked with providing excellent patient care, utilizing protocols and independent judgment. You will assess patients, determine the nature and acuity of illnesses or injuries, and administer appropriate medical treatment. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by providing life-saving emergency care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform emergency medical procedures using approved protocols and independent judgment
  • Respond to 911 medical and trauma emergencies, as well as inter-facility transports
  • Assess patients, determine the nature of their condition, and administer appropriate treatment
  • Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Provide pre-hospital stabilization and life-saving care for critically ill and injured patients
  • Participate in specialized response teams such as SWAT Medics, bike teams, and DMRT
  • Operate ambulances and other emergency vehicles

Qualifications:

  • Must have and maintain a current Oklahoma Paramedic License Required
  • No EMT candidates will be considered
  • Completion of DOT curriculum paramedic program recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Health Required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to be insured by NRH carrier Required
  • Valid driver's license Required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications Required
  • Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital Professionals (PEPP) training within 9 months of hire Required
