Role Overview:

Surgical Solutions Technicians are crucial members of the operating room team, providing essential support to surgeons and OR staff to ensure seamless surgical procedures. These technicians are responsible for preparing and maintaining surgical environments, equipment, and compliance with healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence in the OR:
  • Manage pre-operative setups, including equipment checks and surgical instrument preparation based on surgeon preferences.
  • Maintain sterile environments and provide real-time intra-operative technical support, addressing any equipment or supply issues.
  • Facilitate efficient OR turnovers post-operation by organizing and preparing for subsequent surgeries.
  • Equipment and Inventory Management:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of all surgical tools and equipment, coordinating repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Accurately manage and update inventories and surgeon preference cards to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration and Compliance:
  • Collaborate with various hospital departments such as endoscopy, sterile processing, and materials management to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Maintain high professional standards in all interactions, adhering strictly to regulatory and safety guidelines.

Position Requirements:

  • Education & Certification:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; further education or technical training preferred.
  • CRCST certification not required at hire but must be completed within 120 days of employment.
  • Experience & Skills:
  • Preferably one year of OR experience; substantial customer service experience is essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are critical for effective coordination within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Physical and Environmental Conditions:
  • Capable of handling physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, extensive standing, and maneuvering in restricted spaces.
  • Availability to work in various shifts covering 24/7 operations, including weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

Compensation:

  • Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, increasing to $18.70 per hour after 120 days of successful employment.
