Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit

Location: Waco, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36

Hourly Rate: $32 - $53 per hour

Job Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit, you will be responsible for overseeing patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional nursing practice model. Your key duties will include assessing patients, identifying health issues, developing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient responses to treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, and create and evaluate individualized care plans
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, ensuring comfort and professionalism
  • Adjust care plans as necessary to meet desired outcomes and resolve any health concerns
  • Provide education to patients, families, and staff to ensure informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop comprehensive care plans, delegating tasks appropriately and following up as needed
  • Use problem-solving strategies to address issues for patients, families, and staff while prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Contribute to the professional development of peers and demonstrate commitment to community service

Skills for Success:

  • Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, common medications, and potential side effects
  • Proficient in laws, rules, and standards related to nursing and patient care
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • Current and valid Registered Nursing License
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
