Position Title: RN Med-Surg Director

Location: Panama City, Florida

Job Summary:

As the Director of Med-Surg RN, you will provide leadership in planning, managing, implementing, integrating, and coordinating the unit to support the facility's goals dedicated to excellence, effective leadership, and financial stability. Your role will involve supporting the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care through activities aligned with the facilitys strategic goals and objectives. You will be responsible for enhancing department performance, developing an operational system for seamless patient flow, facilitating educational programs, collaborating with physicians, and evaluating new technology and services.

What You Will Do in This Role:

  • Enhance department performance through improvement initiatives and resource optimization.
  • Develop and maintain an operational system that ensures smooth patient flow across the continuum of care.
  • Facilitate comprehensive education programs for both patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide strong leadership throughout the department.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and services to improve patient care.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary patient care conferences for high-risk or medically complex patients.
  • Oversee research projects under the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • Direct the development of short and long-range programs and project plans to achieve facility objectives.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness with a major impact across hospital areas.
  • Interview, select, and hire qualified personnel to meet department objectives, ensuring compliance with Affirmative Action/EEO practices and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff and supervisors, review performance, and take appropriate disciplinary action as needed.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • At least 2-3 years of recent acute care Supervisor/Manager level experience, with a focus on adult inpatient care in an acute hospital setting.
  • Bachelors Degree REQUIRED.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or BCLS Instructor certification, to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Nurse Practitioner
