Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), Weekend Rotation

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $29.62 - $44.42 per hour

Job Overview:

You will collaborate with the patient, the patient's family, and other healthcare providers to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate a treatment plan. You will play a vital role in achieving positive patient and department outcomes, working with critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care for patients with critical illness, including ventilator management and responding to Code Blue situations.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, exam preparation, and coordinating tests and admissions.
  • Administer medications according to physician orders and monitor patient responses.
  • Instruct patients and their families regarding medications, treatments, and post-care instructions.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accurate posting of tests and examination results.
  • Perform daily checks of rooms to ensure necessary supplies are available.
  • Handle and respond to incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Associate's Degree or higher required).
  • License/Certification:
  • Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (required within 6 months of hire/transfer).
  • Experience: Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience required. Experience in critical care is preferred.
