Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team on the night shift. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your duties will include conducting detailed clinical assessments, recognizing health issues, developing care plans, and evaluating patient responses. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that mothers and babies receive the highest level of care during one of the most critical times in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and maintaining professionalism throughout the birthing process.
- Educate patients, families, and community members on healthcare choices, regularly assessing and documenting learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community members to create and execute care plans, delegating tasks appropriately and following up promptly.
- Utilize problem-solving strategies with patients, families, and staff, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care delivery.
- Contribute to team goals through effective teamwork, recognizing contributions, and committing to continuous professional growth and community service.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active and valid nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Strong understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as hospital procedures.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, disease prevention, management, and common medications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems.
