Position Title: Paramedic

Position Overview:

As a Paramedic, your skills and compassion will be vital in providing high-volume, prehospital 911 emergency response and ensuring the safe transport of patients to regional hospitals. You will also manage emergent and non-emergent inter-facility transportation. This role offers the opportunity to work on the frontlines of patient care, administering Advanced Life Support (ALS) interventions and contributing to the overall emergency medical services team.

Shift Details & Differentials:

  • Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
  • Shifts: Typically 3 x 13-hour shifts or 4 x 11-hour shifts, available in Days, Nights, or Swing schedules
  • $2.00/hr Ambulance Service Differential earned on all hours worked
  • $5.00/hr Night Differential earned on eligible night hours, stacks on base rate
  • $3.00/hr Weekend Differential earned on eligible weekend hours, stacks on base rate
  • $2.00/hr for Bachelor's or $3.00/hr for Master's Education Differential (in approved focus), earned on all hours worked

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prehospital 911 emergency care and inter-facility transportation for patients.
  • Administer medications and perform ALS interventions as per New Mexico state guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using ImageTrend Elite.
  • Safely operate emergency vehicles according to EVOC standards.
  • Assist in the instruction of EMS students to enhance their work-related experiences.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing in-service educational programs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Current New Mexico drivers license required, with an insurable driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • State of New Mexico Paramedic certification in good standing required.
  • Must maintain certifications in ACLS, BLS, and complete FEMA 100, 200, and 700 courses.
  • Ability to perform CPR and other paramedic skills.
  • EMT experience preferred.
  • Must pass a physical abilities assessment.
  • Obtain and maintain medical examiner/DOT certification.
