Shift Times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Hours: 80 Hours Per Pay Period

Hourly Range: $20.00 - $26.00 (based on years of experience)

Salary Range: $41,600 - $54,080

Job Overview:

The Medical Assistant will manage the patient flow, assist providers in the management and treatment of patients, and ensure smooth operations within the clinic. This role involves working with patients from diverse backgrounds and various age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical and clerical tasks, including rooming patients, administering immunizations, injections, and other medications as directed by the provider.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens and conduct basic clinic laboratory tests.
  • Provide telephone support, facilitate communication between patients and providers, and assist with prescription refills.
  • Perform x-ray duties (if x-ray operator exam is passed) and phlebotomy as needed.
  • Provide front desk/check-in support, assist with ordering and stocking supplies, and handle prior authorizations.
  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in all required skills, upgrading or improving skills as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Supervisor, Clinic Manager, Registered Nurse, and Providers to meet department and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Medical Assistant Program: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting required. Passing the x-ray operators exam or willingness to take the exam is required based on clinic needs.
  • BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
