Hourly: $27.00 - $43.00
Annually: $56,160 - $89,440
Job Overview:
Oncology Nursing Society and the American Nurses Association. The RN will be responsible for assisting with daily clinic operations, including patient care, education, triaging phone calls, scheduling, billing, and maintaining patient medical records. The RN will work independently while ensuring alignment with hospital policies and the Nursing Process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide chemotherapy and infusion therapy to oncology patients following prescribed protocols.
- Assist with daily clinic operations, including patient care, education, and triaging phone calls.
- Schedule treatments and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate patient care within hospital guidelines.
- Perform assessments, develop care plans, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient progress using the Nursing Process.
- Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and provide patient education on chemotherapy treatments.
- Manage care for patients with ports, catheters, and fistulas.
- Provide high-quality care with compassion and a patient-centered approach.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion therapy required.
- Experience with port, catheter, and fistula management required.
- IV certification and peripheral IV insertion experience strongly preferred.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required (American Heart Association).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Preferred.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate: Required.
- ONCC Certification: Preferred.
- Licensure: Active New Hampshire RN license or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
