Job Title: Catheterization Laboratory Technologist

Location: Goodyear, AZ

Shift: Variable, 4 Days per Week

Shift Start Time: 7:00 AM

Shift End Time: 5:00 PM

Scheduled Hours: 40 per week

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000

Job Overview:

As a Catheterization Laboratory Technologist, you will provide technical and patient support during invasive and non-invasive cardiac catheterization procedures. You will assist physicians, operate equipment safely, ensure room readiness, and maintain aseptic techniques throughout procedures. The role also involves participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring patient safety and radiation monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, positioning, and draping of patients for cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Set up and scrub for procedures, ensuring timely room readiness.
  • Operate imaging equipment safely, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper functioning throughout procedures.
  • Support physicians during procedures by collecting and interpreting relevant data.
  • Maintain an aseptic environment, ensuring proper handling of instruments and supplies.
  • Provide post-procedure cleanup, restock supplies, and assist with room preparation for the next procedure.
  • Perform patient care responsibilities, considering age-specific needs and optimizing safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed and monitored.

  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and teamwork are essential.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively reassure patients and work with healthcare professionals.

Education and Certifications:

  • Minimum Education: Completion of a formal two-year radiologic technology training program from an AMA-approved school, or equivalent on-the-job training, including a minimum of four months of orientation.
  • Required Certifications/Licensure: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, Arizona MRTBE license, and BLS certification.
  • Required Courses/Training: EKG, Hemodynamics, and IABP training within four months of hire.
