Job Title: Hematology Nurse Coordinator
Location: Gainesville, FL
Shift: Variable Shifts, 5 Shifts Per Week (40 Hours)
Hourly Rate: $30.60 - $45.90 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Hematology Nurse Coordinator to join our team, focusing on hematologic cancers and the treatment trajectory of patients. This role involves coordinating care within the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Network, providing leadership and expertise in managing hematology patients. You will play a critical role in patient care by fostering therapeutic relationships, tracking the care process, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This position also involves participating in process improvement initiatives and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource for hematology and transplant care, providing guidance to the multidisciplinary team
- Coordinate patient care, including telemedicine conferences with physicians, patients, and other team members
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their support systems
- Assess patient and family psychosocial needs, and track the care process for each patient
- Participate in professional activities, promote best practices, and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate leadership in care coordination, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed on treatment protocols, and ensure compliance with established standards in hematology and cellular therapy
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of recent acute care leadership experience, preferably in Transplant, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Hematology, Oncology, or Blood Cancer
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Experience in managing AML, ALL, or Burkitts Lymphoma preferred
- Transplant and Cellular Therapy experience preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Active Registered Nurse license in Florida or current multistate license
- Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Bachelor's or Master's Degree (must be obtained within 1 year of employment)
