Job Title: Director of Emergency Services
Location: Clinton, Missouri
Salary: $98,000 - $120,000
Shift: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8-hour day shifts)

Job Overview:
The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. This role oversees all nursing, financial, operational, and human resource functions within the department while maintaining compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. The Director collaborates with medical and executive leadership to align departmental goals with the organization's strategic plan and fosters a culture of excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values
  • Oversee all nursing care, patient safety, performance improvement, and infection control initiatives
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and quality outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize emergency services and patient flow
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and professional ethics codes
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, programs, and procedures to improve patient care and operational performance
  • Utilize data, analytics, and metrics to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide education, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff and leadership team members
  • Represent the organization professionally within the community and participate in hospital-wide initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • Active Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within one year of hire
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) credential preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and implement departmental initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and leadership across all levels
  • Proven ability to lead by example, manage change, and foster a positive team environment
