Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time Medical Biller specializing in surgical coding and billing for a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in medical billing, insurance claims, and surgical coding. Familiarity with HST and ECW software is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure accurate and efficient billing operations.
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies.
  • Submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring they are complete for prompt payment.
  • Follow up on unpaid and disputed claims, and identify secondary or tertiary insurances.
  • Check insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Respond to inquiries from insurance companies, patients, and providers regarding billing and account statuses.
  • Perform various collection actions, including contacting patients and resubmitting corrected claims.
  • Process patient statements, address inquiries, and resolve account issues.
  • Stay updated on billing regulations and procedures for third-party payers.
  • Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience:

    • Proficiency in surgical coding and billing is mandatory.
    • Familiarity with HST and ECW software is highly preferred.
  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of medical billing regulations and insurance processes.
    • Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
    • Flexibility to work in U.S. time zones.
