Role Overview:
As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of branch operations. This includes overseeing transportation activities, fleet management, customer relations, and budget control. You will play a vital role in driving the branchs success by ensuring that all operations run smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Branch Operations:

    • Lead and manage all aspects of branch operations, including dispatching, scheduling, and coordinating transportation activities.
    • Optimize truck routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
    • Ensure timely pickups and deliveries by coordinating with drivers and dispatch teams.
    • Implement and monitor performance metrics to track the effectiveness of branch operations.
  2. Fleet Management:

    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and safety of the truck fleet, ensuring all vehicles are in optimal condition.
    • Monitor vehicle performance and fuel consumption, taking corrective actions when necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of vehicles.
  3. Customer Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
    • Work closely with clients to understand their transportation needs and ensure their requirements are met.
    • Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and building strong relationships.
  4. Cost Control and Budgeting:

    • Manage the branch budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
    • Negotiate contracts with carriers, suppliers, and service providers to secure the best rates and terms.
    • Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient use of personnel, vehicles, and other assets.
    • Prepare and present regular financial and operational reports to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in logistics, transportation, or fleet management, with a proven track record of success in managing branch operations.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of drivers, dispatchers, and administrative staff.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
  • Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field. Advanced certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus.

Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in transportation software and tracking systems, with the ability to leverage technology for operational improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of trucking regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
