Job Title: Senior Accountant (Hybrid)
Location: Mississauga, ON
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum

Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior management and contribute to operational decision-making and financial analysis. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the companys growth and efficiency. There is a clear path to progress into an Assistant Controller role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller in managing daily accounting operations, including monthly financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and annual audits.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Oversee full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for 400+ employees, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the companys policy and procedure manual to ensure consistency across operations.
  • Support the Controller and CFO with financial analysis, forecasts, and key metrics reporting.
  • Partner with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing management reporting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Collaborate on the integration of business intelligence, machine learning, and AI tools to drive innovation and data insights.

Performance Expectations:

  • Prioritize monthly financial packages and reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on business transformation projects, including system upgrades and the implementation of automation tools.
  • Maintain payroll-related processes and controls, and prepare relevant monthly and annual payroll reports.
  • Support audits by responding to requests and ensuring all necessary documentation is available.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting and CPA designation (or nearing completion).
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in payroll.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Power Platform, and financial software (SAP Business One experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to contribute to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
