Accounting Manager - Woodbridge - On-Site

Overview

Our client, a reputable organization in the residential real estate / construction sector, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting project-based accounting activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, in-office environment and has experience working with Sage.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage project and job costing, ensuring accurate tracking of costs across residential developments
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes within Sage
• Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with senior leadership
• Ensure compliance with HST, payroll, and other regulatory requirements
• Liaise with external accountants for year-end reporting and audits
• Monitor cash flow and provide insights to support financial decision-making
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience within residential real estate or construction
• Strong hands-on experience using Sage (Sage 300 or similar)
• Solid understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
• Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or in progress is an asset)
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a full-time, in-office environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
