THE ROLE

Newkey Consulting is seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to support Licensed Gas Fitters, working at an industrial site in Melbourne's inner-west. This role offers the opportunity to work with new emerging technology,  supporting installation, maintenance, and inspection of gas infrastructure and associated equipment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in technical environments and contributing to safe and efficient site operations. 



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Licensed Gas Fitters with installation, maintenance, and inspection of gas systems and associated pipework
• Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, machine operators, engineers, and other site personnel
• Maintain clean and organised work areas



ABOUT YOU

Essential:

• Experience working as a Trade Assistant or Mechanical TA, with pressurised pipe systems or gas infrastructure
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and following procedures
• Good mechanical aptitude, communication skills and a positive team player

Highly regarded:

• Mechanical or trade-related background
• Experience in steel manufacturing or gas infrastructure environments
• Forklift license, or other relevant industrial site tickets
