Group CTO

Overview

We are partnering with a rapidly scaling global digital asset trading platform to appoint a Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The firm operates at institutional scale across multiple regions and serves both professional and institutional market participants through a high-performance trading ecosystem.

The CTO will lead the organisations global technology strategy, overseeing the development and scaling of next-generation trading infrastructure while driving innovation across blockchain-based financial services.

This role sits at the executive leadership level and works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the firms long-term technology vision.

Role Overview

The CTO will be responsible for defining and executing the companys global technology roadmap while ensuring the platform continues to operate at the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.

The successful candidate will bring deep experience building mission-critical trading systems and leading large engineering organisations within high-growth fintech, exchange, or digital asset environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Vision & Strategy

Define and lead the long-term technology strategy aligned with global business growth Drive the evolution of next-generation exchange infrastructure and blockchain-enabled financial services Identify emerging technologies across AI, distributed systems, and blockchain ecosystems

Product & Platform Innovation

Oversee the development of ultra-low-latency trading systems and advanced derivatives infrastructure Lead technology development across trading, payments, custody, and digital asset services Build a strong research and development culture focused on continuous innovation

Infrastructure & Security

Architect highly scalable and resilient systems capable of supporting significant global trading volumes Ensure institutional-grade security, risk management, and platform integrity Lead infrastructure expansion and global system optimisation

Leadership

Build and lead a global engineering organisation across multiple regions Develop senior technical leadership and high-performance teams Promote a culture of innovation, speed, and operational excellence

Executive Stakeholder Management

Partner closely with executive leadership and board stakeholders Translate complex technology initiatives into strategic business outcomes Represent the organisation externally across industry partnerships and ecosystem engagement

Candidate Profile

15+ years of technology leadership experience

Prior experience as CTO, Head of Engineering, or equivalent senior leadership role

Strong background in financial technology, trading platforms, exchanges, or digital asset infrastructure

Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and cybersecurity

Experience building or scaling high-performance trading platforms or market infrastructure

Proven ability to lead large global engineering teams Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and execution capability

Fluency in English required; Mandarin capability beneficial
