To support its continued expansion and operational growth in China, the company is seeking a commercially driven Finance Director to lead the finance function for its Haimen operation and act as a key strategic partner to the regional leadership team.
About the role
The Finance Director will oversee the full spectrum of finance operations for the China manufacturing business, including financial planning & analysis, accounting, controlling, compliance, treasury, tax, budgeting, and business partnering activities. This role will play a critical leadership position in driving financial performance, operational transparency, strategic decision-making, and governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all finance and accounting activities for the Haimen manufacturing operation, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Serve as a strategic business partner to the General Management and regional leadership team on financial planning, operational performance, and business decision-making.
Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and long-term business planning processes.
Monitor plant financial performance, including manufacturing costs, profitability, inventory, CAPEX, and working capital management.
Strengthen financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks in line with corporate and regulatory requirements.
Oversee monthly closing, statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and treasury management activities.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency, cost optimization, and business profitability.
Partner closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and commercial teams to support performance improvement initiatives.
Lead and develop the local finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support ERP optimization, digital transformation initiatives, and process standardization across the finance organization.
Ensure compliance with local Chinese regulations as well as multinational corporate policies and reporting standards.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related disciplines; CPA, ACCA, CMA, or MBA qualifications are highly preferred.
Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles within multinational manufacturing environments.
Strong background in plant finance, manufacturing controlling, cost accounting, and operational finance management.
Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, compliance, and internal controls in China.
Proven experience partnering with operations and senior business leaders in driving financial and operational performance.
Experience working within matrix organizations and reporting to regional or global headquarters.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and team leadership skills.
Fluent in English and Chinese
